Bible Exploration and Study
New Testament - 2 Timothy        Led By: Ron Van Camp

The book of 2 Timothy is an intensely personal letter from the apostle Paul, while in chains, to his son in the faith, Timothy. In it he encourages Timothy to wage the courageous fight of faith against all ungodliness. We will work on the skills of observation, interpretation and personal application from this book. We will dive into 2 Timothy and learn a few new skills on how to do independent Bible study. The skills learned in this impact class will help you with any devotional or Bible study in the future.

Wielding the Sword - Bible Doctrine as the Foundation of Faith        Led By: Rem Beitel

The Apostle Paul admonished the saints in Ephesus to take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, as part of their spiritual armor. If the Bible is the sword with which we fight spiritual battles, sound doctrine is the handle - the interpretive framework - by which it is wielded. As a soldier of Christ, do you have a firm grip on the handle? Do you wield the Word with skill and confidence, or is your sword mostly ornamental? Fortunately, you are never too old (or too young) to learn the foundations of a proper grip on the Word rooted in sound doctrine.

This survey course provides an introduction to major Bible doctrines and discusses why each is essential to our personal growth, to our public witness and to our credibility. The class is intended to encourage, and form the basis for, further in-depth study of each doctrine, and to equip believers to identify, understand and rationally defend the foundations of the Christian faith.

Why I Believe (Women's Class)        Led By:  Leanna Van Eman

1 Peter 2:14-16 tells us we are to "always be ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, with gentleness and reverence." Have you prepared yourself to have these kinds of conversations with others? If not, join us as we explore the study "Why I Believe" by Chip Ingram. This study will help us to answer questions regarding why we believe in the God of the Bible; that the Bible is the inspired Word of God; Creation; the Resurrection and more.

Wisdom - God's Perspective on Life (Men's Class)        Led By:  Rick Griffith

What is wisdom? - Jesus told a parable in Matthew 7 about two men who each built a house - one was wise and the other foolish. In 1 Corinthians the apostle Paul contrasts spiritual wisdom with wordly wisdom. James also teaches that wisdom has two radically different sources, motives and results. An entire book of Scripture is given to the subject.

King Solomon wrote in the book of Proverbs:
"Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding."
"Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her."

But we must open the scripture; we must study what is written there, we must desire to know Him as we ponder the truth presented. This is the only way to obtain and apply wisdom. In this class we will examine "Wisdom - God's Perspective on Life."
